HR & Leave

The HR module covers people records, leave management, public holidays, excuse duties, appraisals and performance management.

Employees

HR → Employees

  • Firm-wide employee directory
  • Create, view, edit, delete (depending on role tier)
  • Resend invite to employees who haven't activated
  • Each employee record links to a user account, department, position, join date
  • Next of kin records for emergency contact

Individual employees can see their own record at Profile and related HR pages.

Leave

For employees

  • HR → My Leaves — your requests
  • HR → My Leaves → New — request leave
  • HR → Leave Balance — how many days you have left

For HR / supervisors

  • HR → Leave — all leave requests, with approve/reject actions
  • HR → On Leave — who is currently out
  • HR → Leaves → Team — team-level view

Leave states

  • PENDING — awaiting review
  • APPROVED — approved, deducted from balance
  • REJECTED — declined
  • CANCELLED — withdrawn

Leave configuration

  • HR → Leave Policies — define leave types (Annual, Sick, Maternity, Paternity, Compassionate, Unpaid) and rules
  • HR → Leave Allocations — per-employee yearly allocations
  • HR → Public Holidays — firm-observed holidays
  • HR → Free Days — personal free days per employee
  • HR → Excuse Duties — non-leave absences requiring approval

Appraisals

Running an appraisal

  1. Create the appraisal — HR → Appraisals → New
  2. Employee completes self-assessment — HR → My Appraisals → [appraisal] → Self-assessment
  3. Reviewer completes their review — HR → Appraisals → [appraisal] → Review
  4. HR marks complete

Appraisal configuration

Before running appraisals, set up:

  • HR → Appraisal Templates — reusable structures (with sections and questions)
  • HR → Competence Categories and HR → Competences — the skills framework
  • HR → Performance Targets — goals to measure against
  • HR → Review Periods — e.g. Q1 2026, H1 2026

Reports

  • Leave utilization — usage across employees and leave types
