Library
The Library is the firm's shared knowledge store. Use it for precedents, templates, research, images, audio and video — anything worth keeping that isn't tied to a specific matter.

Organising
The library supports three ways to organise content:
- Folders — hierarchical, like a filesystem
- Categories — a flat taxonomy, e.g. "Motion templates", "Research memos", "Precedents"
- Tags — free-form, cross-cutting labels
Use all three layers together. A single document can live in a folder, belong to a category, and have several tags.
Uploading
From Library → Items → Upload (or the upload button on the library home):
- Choose the file
- Pick a folder
- Assign a category
- Add tags
- Save
Searching
Global search across the application also searches the library, so if you know what you're looking for you can find it quickly without drilling into folders.
Library vs matter documents
- Matter documents (under a specific matter) are working files for that matter.
- Library items are reusable knowledge, not tied to a case.
A good pattern: develop a working document on a matter, then when it proves useful, save a cleaned-up version into the library as a precedent.
